IS THE BELIEF™ METHOD SUITABLE FOR ME?

WHAT IS THE BELIEF™ METHOD BASED ON AND WHY IS IT SO EFFECTIVE?

THE COST SEEMS QUITE HIGH AND WHY DO I NEED TO PAY UPFRONT ?

Investing in your self-development is one of the most valuable things you can do for yourself. My programmes are priced lower than many other therapy or coaching packages out there and when compared to the cost of attending weekly therapy sessions for months on end, you will see that the investment is actually very reasonable. You're saving on time, not results. I ask that payment is made up front because this increases your sense of commitment  from the outset and also means that I don't need to waste time chasing up payments - time that could be better spent on my clients and my own professional development. If you are eligible for Paypal's new 'Pay in 3' service, I am happy to accept this as an alternative form of payment.


WHAT DOES BEING HYPNOTISED FEEL LIKE AND WHAT IF I CAN'T BE HYPNOTISED?
Many people who haven't experienced hypnosis mistakenly think they will be unconscious or out of control, but in fact it's quite the opposite. Hypnosis is a natural state that we enter frequently, so it won't feel strange or unfamiliar. If you've ever been driving your car and suddenly become aware that you can't recall driving the last few minutes or if you've ever been so engrossed in a book or film that you haven't noticed what's going on around you - that's a hypnotic state. The moments just before and after we sleep provide a natural period of hypnosis. During hypnosis your nervous system is relaxed, your focus is heightened and your mind becomes more intuitive and receptive to suggestions while retaining full control at all times. Whilst everyone's experience of being hypnotised will be different (and some people naturally find it easier to relax than others), it's reassuring to know that almost anyone can experience hypnosis and enjoy it!


WHAT IF I GET STUCK IN HYPNOSIS?
You don't need to worry about getting stuck in hypnosis as you will be conscious at all times and in full control of yourself. You are free to open you eyes, stop the session or leave at any point. Occasionally clients will nod off to sleep during a session, but if this happens I simply wake them up.


CAN I DO IT ONLINE AND IS IT AS EFFECTIVE AS DOING IT IN PERSON?
Yes! Most of my clients work with me online and it is just as effective as working in person, if not more as many clients prefer to be in the comfort of their own surroundings. All you need is a quiet, comfortable place where you won't be disturbed for the duration of the session and a strong internet connection with a camera and microphone. Zoom will be the platform used for all sessions.
 

DO I NEED TO TELL YOU ALL MY PRIVATE STUFF? WHAT IF I DON'T WANT TO?
The short answer is no. You are not obliged to share anything that you don't feel comfortable sharing. My job is not to pry or extract information from you and I will always respect your privacy and dignity.
However, it's important to know that whatever comes up for you during a session will have done so for a reason and is therefore likely to be relevant to your healing process. If a memory feels too painful or embarrassing to share, just let me know and we can work around it. The intricate details are of less importance than how the event made you feel, so there are ways in which you can share which will be helpful but without needing to provide too many details that might make you feel uncomfortable.



WILL I GET EMOTIONAL DURING THE THERAPY?
Yes! I have yet to work with a client who did not feel emotional in some way when working through their issues. It is the most natural thing to experience a variety of emotions during therapy and to release them. It's a sign that things are shifting within you and that you are engaging deeply with the process. When recalling past events you may feel emotions such as anger, resentment, fear or sadness, but as you work through your issues, these emotions will change to feelings of clarity, closure and relief. Clients often describe it as a lightness, like a burden has been lifted off them, giving them a sense of hope and positivity for the future. Crying is the most common response to all these emotions and this can range from a teary eye to loud sobbing - and it's all totally normal. Laughing, shouting, feeling shaky and even releasing gas (don't worry, this is rare!) are also natural responses to emotional release. When a response is very strong or sudden it is called an abreaction. If this occurs, I will reassure you and remind you that you are safe and if necessary bring you back out of hypnosis. We all have built up emotions within us so letting them out feels really therapeutic. You will always feel better at the end of a session than you did at the beginning, even if you've been emotionally drained!
